Amelia Earhart

This month Crazy Woman Cellars celebrates the famous American aviator known for being the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, Amelia Earhart. Born on July 24, 1897, in Kansas, she developed a love for adventure and flying at a young age. Earhart became a symbol of bravery and independence, breaking many aviation records and encouraging other women to follow their dreams. She helped change women’s history by proving that women could achieve great things in fields once dominated by men, like aviation. Through her actions and advocacy, she inspired countless women to pursue careers in science, aviation, and other male-dominated professions. In 1937, while attempting to fly around the world, she and her navigator Fred Noonan disappeared over the Pacific Ocean. Despite a massive search, they were never found, and her disappearance remains one of history’s greatest mysteries.
